Independence day is observed annually on 14th of August as a National Holiday. It is remembrance of the day when Pakistani people achieved their independence in 1947, under the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The movement was brought forth by Indian Independence Act 1947 that gave the freedom from British Government , comprising of East Pakistan (Today’s Pakistan) and West Pakistan (Bangladesh). In 1971, Bangladesh Liberation War, East Pakistan was partitioned from West Pakistan, arise as separate country in the Globe, named as Bangladesh.

  •  Independence day’s celebration:
    • Official Celebration
      Independence day is observed as official holiday throughout the country.
      The major ceremony is held in the Islamabad capital territory, starts with Parade, flag hoisting on Presidential and Parliament buildings followed by National Anthem and different speeches of leaders in the tribute of Independence day. The Prime Minister and President of Pakistan address to the people and congratulate the nation to get freedom by giving them awareness about significance of the big day for them. Moreover, a tribute is also given to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, known as Father of Nation and Founder of Pakistan. Overseas bigwigs are the main featured as chief guest in the ceremonies. Their armed forces also participate in parade to present their forces trends.
    • Public Celebration
      Streets and houses of each city are decorated with candles, oil lamps, fun fairs and pennants. People visit national places to celebrate their Independence day.
      It doesn’t bother, where Pakistani people live or which language they are used to speak, Pakistan is in their hearts.

     

    Quaid’s Message :
    On the big day, we should remember the message of Quaid-e-Azam :

    My message to you all is of hope, courage and confidence. Let us mobilize all our confront us with the grim determination and discipline worthy of a great nation.”

      On the country’s big day, people usually keep praying for the prosperity of the country. In every city’s mosques, it’s been excised in every prayer exclusively.
      May we find the right and true directions set by our founders and national heroes who were the real visionaries and role model for Muslim Nation, leading towards peaceful and prosperous human beings for the Doomsday.
